POSITION OVERVIEW – Product Quality Engineer-Home Appliances
The Product Quality Engineer is responsible for monitoring and analyzing product quality performance across multiple home appliance product lines to identify trends, investigate product issues, and drive continuous quality improvements. This role works closely with engineering, manufacturing, headquarters, service teams, and quality organizations to evaluate field performance, conduct root cause analysis, and ensure corrective actions are implemented. The ideal candidate is analytical, mechanically inclined, and passionate about improving customer experience through data-driven decision making and cross-functional collaboration.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Analyze weekly and monthly product quality data to identify trends by product, model, and reported symptoms.
- Monitor new product launches and compare quality performance against benchmark models.
- Track daily product quality cases and service tickets to identify recurring issues and emerging trends.
- Perform root cause analysis on product failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate with engineering, manufacturing, headquarters, and service organizations to investigate and resolve product quality concerns.
- Conduct product evaluations and testing to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Retrieve and evaluate defective parts or product units for failure analysis.
- Assist with product disassembly and inspection to identify component-level issues.
- Prepare weekly and monthly quality reports, dashboards, and presentations for leadership and cross-functional teams.
- Manage quality issue tracking through completion, ensuring open issues are resolved in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to improve product reliability, service quality, and customer satisfaction.
- Support quality improvement initiatives throughout the product lifecycle.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Business, or a related technical field.
- 1–3 years of experience in data analysis, product quality, engineering, manufacturing, or a related analytical role.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and perform root cause analysis.
- Excellent Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present findings effectively.
- Interest in consumer home appliances and product quality improvement.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to inspect, assess, and disassemble products when necessary.
- Ability to troubleshoot product issues and identify corrective actions.
- Experience working with manufacturing, engineering, quality assurance, or product development teams preferred.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multiple departments and global teams.
- Korean bilingual skills preferred but not required.
- Valid driver's license with the ability to travel locally between office locations, warehouse facilities, and training centers as needed.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- Fully onsite position in Plano, TX.
- Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM.
- Occasional local travel between office, warehouse, and training facilities.
- Requires frequent computer usage utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
- Requires handling, evaluating, and occasionally disassembling home appliance products and components.
- Ability to lift and move appliance parts or product units as necessary for evaluation and testing.
- Fast-paced, collaborative environment requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Works closely with domestic and international teams to resolve product quality concerns and support continuous improvement initiatives.
