POSITION OVERVIEW - The Financial Analyst 1 manages credit risk for an assigned portfolio of accounts, using risk assessment tools and financial data to evaluate and recommend credit limits for new and existing customers.
RESPONSIBLITIES
● Manage the commercial credit risk for an assigned portfolio of accounts made up of smaller limits and a less complex portfolio mix
● Complete credit reviews and assigned tasks on a timely basis
● Use credit risk analysis skills along with available risk assessment tools and third-party data to analyze and recommend limits for existing and new account requests
● Build relationships with the Customer for periodic financial updates and Sales for forecasts
● Follow established procedures and learn existing workflows
● Support senior analysts in cross-functional coordination
● Assemble spreadsheets and draw charts and graphs used to illustrate technical reports.
● Analyze financial information to produce forecast of business, industry and economic conditions for use in making investment decisions.
● Interpret data affecting investment programs, such as price, yield, stability and future trends in investment risks.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
● Bachelor's degree in accounting or related financial discipline required.
● 0-2 years financial and/or accounting experience required.
● Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and critical thinking.
● Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
● Ability to analyze business trends and project future revenues and expenses.
● Basic knowledge of economic and accounting principles, the financial markets, and reporting of financial data.
● Basic knowledge of federal, state, and company policies, procedures and regulations as related to accounting.
● Previous experience with computer applications, such as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and any other related financial software.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
● An advanced degree in a financial discipline is preferred.
● Experience with D&B reports and other trade data is a plus
● Experience with SAP or similar ERP system preferred
● Solid Microsoft Office skills (Word & Excel) V-lookup and Pivot tables (Macros a+)
