Hybrid, Monday -Friday, 1-2 days in office

POSITION OVERVIEW – Clean Combustion Process Engineer III
As a member of the Process and Controls Engineering Team, you will be an active contributor to support the Clean Combustion Parts and Services business. You will be responsible for developing tenders, performing detailed studies and leading contract execution. This role requires you to work cross-functionally developing process solutions based on customer needs solving complex problems across the Clean Combustion product line of utility and industrial boilers. The main functions include thermal sizing and process assessment of sub- and supercritical 2-Pass boilers. You will work as a team player and at times as a task leader, acting with humility, transparency, focus and inclusion; analytically minded, decisive, and collaborative.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Process Engineers supports the Clean Combustion Services’ boiler market for a wide variety of customer requests including pressure part material and equipment upgrades and comprehensive power plant assessments including fuel conversions (coal, natural gas, biomass), emission reductions and heat rate improvements.
  • Tasks include combustion / process computation for determination of furnace combustor and associated component performance including heat transfer surface configurations and selection of pressure part arrangement and materials based upon project specified fuels, thermal cycles and customer requirements. 
  • Evaluation of boiler auxiliary equipment may be required. 
  • The Process Engineer develops steam generator performance guarantees and supports commissioning and performance testing activities. 
  • Develop material lists and engineering selections to meet customer requirements and provide required deliverables, collaboration and support for the Project team.
  • Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline and analytical thinking and technical experience to execute business strategy.
  • Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews. 
  • Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering codes, policies and procedures.
  • Uses some judgment and has some ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters to address more complicated manufacturing processes with technical variety and/or interdependent production cycles. 
  • Uses technical experience and analytical thinking. 
  • Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own teams to arrive at decisions.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. 
  • May lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. 
  • Explains information, developing skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field.
  • Domestic travel to visit customer sites, <5%. 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or other engineering discipline 
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
