$48 - $54.50

 SCHEDULE
Hybrid, 40 hours/wk, flexible hours
4 days onsite/1 day remote (usually Fridays)

CONTRACT TERM
1 year with high likelihood of extension or conversion to full time employee.

POSITION OVERVIEW – CAD Designer II--  The CAD Designer is responsible for creating accurate and detailed drawings using CAD software based on provided instructions, sketches, and layouts. This role involves working closely with engineers and other team members to produce high quality drawings for various projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 3D design of custom equipment design solutions, including physical plan, elevations, section detail views, required custom views for FACTS solutions for orders and proposals.
  • Develop Bills of Material for all designs, ensure consistency and quality throughout design process.
  • Interface with internal and external team members such as principal engineers, control engineers, civil engineers, electrical designers, project managers, engineering leaders and support organizations.
  • Facilitate the development and execute cost reduction programs that vary in scope and may include low-cost vendor selection, design improvements, process improvements, automation, and new product introduction.
  • Excellent personal computer skills, including proficiency with Excel and Word, Autodesk and Bentley Open Utilities 3D CAD platforms.
  • Support project quality procedures and initiatives including aspects of ISO9001.
  • Prepare drawings using MicroStation or other CAD software (AutoCAD) according to provided instructions
  • Perform drawing changes and revisions as directed by engineers or project managers.
  • Receive supervision, instruction, and review of work to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards.
  • Follow drafting practices and procedures to produce clear and concise drawings.
  • Communicate effectively with team members to understand project requirements and timelines.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Associates Degree (Technology or Drafting) plus experience; or related vocationaltechnical high school program.
  • 3D Modeling Experience
  • Proficiency in CAD software, particularly MicroStation or similar tools
  • Basic understanding of drafting practices and procedures.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience with Bentley Substation
