POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Subcontract Administrator to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating the subcontracting process for a large construction project. As a Senior Subcontract Administrator, you will be responsible for managing and overseeing the subcontracting activities, ensuring compliance with contractual agreements, and fostering positive relationships with subcontractors. RESPONSIBILITIES
Subcontractor Identification and Evaluation:
- Identify potential subcontractors through thorough research and assessment.
- Evaluate subcontractor capabilities, performance history, and financial stability.
Bid Process Management:
- Coordinate the bidding process, including issuing requests for proposals (RFPs) to potential subcontractors.
- Review and analyze subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
Contract Negotiation:
- Negotiate terms and conditions with subcontractors to achieve favorable agreements.
- Collaborate with legal and project management teams to finalize contractual documents.
Contract Administration:
- Administer subcontract agreements, ensuring compliance with project specifications and applicable regulations.
- Monitor subcontractor performance, deliverables, and timelines.
Change Order Management:
- Evaluate and process change orders as necessary, in collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
- Negotiate changes to subcontract agreements as required.
Risk Management:
- Identify and assess potential risks associated with subcontracting activities.
- Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain effective communication channels with internal project teams and external subcontractors.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project success.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of subcontracting activities.
- Generate reports on subcontractor performance, project progress, and potential issues.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Subcontract Administrator in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of construction contracts, subcontracting regulations, and industry best practices.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working in manufacturing, energy, oil & gas, high-tech, or construction environment preferred.
- Experience working on projects in a construction/project environment is preferred.
