Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Onsite – Tamarac, FL
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (EST), with additional hours as needed
Salary: $93,000
Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and innovative Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the design and improvement of production machinery and processes, ensuring efficiency, safety, and quality in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role will collaborate cross-functionally with teams across production, quality, materials, and engineering to drive operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes, machinery, and workflows.
- Ensure all processes comply with OSHA and environmental regulations and promote ergonomic safety.
- Support new product development by defining processes, developing tools and gauges, creating work instructions, and coordinating with engineering and production teams.
- Develop and implement systems such as FMEA, SPC, Process Capability Analysis, and DOE to maintain and improve product quality.
- Utilize lean manufacturing tools to drive continuous improvement and efficiency across operations.
- Lead capital equipment acquisition and facility layout planning projects.
- Analyze floor space utilization and recommend plant modifications, equipment placement, and workflow enhancements.
- Work closely with design engineering, purchasing, and suppliers to support material and tooling decisions.
- Identify opportunities for automation and lead the design, build, and implementation of small automation projects; manage vendor-led larger automation projects.
- Support the development and tracking of key production metrics including OEE and TEEP.
- Provide technical support for specific manufacturing challenges and contribute to cross-functional problem-solving.
- Create and maintain documentation including bills of materials, work instructions, routers, and jigs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with project management and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively across all levels of the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to identify and implement process improvements.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and tools.
- Knowledge of process design, work instructions, tooling, and production line optimization.
